So McCain has finally picked his VP, it is Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. I like what Sarah has done in this state. Especially the upcoming estimated $3,200 Permanent Fund Dividend, which includes a $1,200 energy stimulus package designed to help Alaskans pay there very high fuel bills. There are many out there who are saying that Sarah is under qualified for the position of VP, and that thought does “roll” around in the back of my head, however as robin Williams said “Some (women) are born with greatness, others have greatness thrust upon them.” My experience in life also tells me that some people can in fact function extremely well and actually get things done in situations where the are really bewildered. What do you think on the job training is.

(Announcer)
In this corner, wearing Black trunks, and hailing from the city of Chicago.  Just coming off a Presidential Nominee win, with a lead in the popular vote.  Ladies and gentlemen Barack Obama.

(Announcer)
And in this corner, with the “pure” white trunks, hailing from Colorado Springs, Colorado.  With a fan base from Focus on the family of over  200 million.  Dr. James Dobson.
crowd yells
(Announcer)
Now ladies and gentlemen all across America the decision made here could determine the fate of the free world as we know it.  So with that in mind, LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!
….

Ok so that might have been a little melodramatic but there may be a bit of a battle brewing between these two men in the coming months.  Obama has referenced biblical passages in some of his speeches before, and now Dr. James Dobson is citing those quotes as “made up“.  Saying that he is iterpereting them to meet his own world view.  NEWSFLASH the bible is nothing if not open to interpretation.  Yes if you have ever sat through a sermon you know that the speaker tries to explain it the way that they see it.  However if you read and or listen to the bible you are pretty much forced to come up with your own interpretattion.  Plus if you read the bible you quickly notice that it contridicts it’s self, depending on what part you are refrencing.  So maybe these religious leaders should realize that any thinking idividual is going to form there own opinions in reference to the bible, and that they should try to nuture the individuals opinion, and perhaps provide some wisdom to help influence the new opinion.  Not give the person their opinion and expect them to adopt it without question.

In the news lately there has been big hype not only concering the Democratic and Republician canidates for president but wether or not their respective wives are first lady material.  There is some news to say the americans may be ready for a black president, but not ready for a black first lady.  What?  Quite frankly I think that this is just more mud slinging.  Now you may say that I have in fact be slinging mud at Barack Obama however I have tried to never bring his personal life into it.  I have commented on the public speaches he has given and responded to the words he has used,  but I never commented on the rumor the Barack was a muslim, and I will leave it at that.  I like most americans wish that presidential campaigns could be “cleaner” and not bring personal effects into it.  Both sides are guilty of this action, but the primary instagaters of this are: you guessed it the Media.  From the people who brought you the fear that every white woman in america would be kidnapped, comes the new ground breaking special…  So in the upcoming months please at least try to focus in the issues presented by the respective canidates, and vote based on that, and not on wether or not one canidate has the proper wife for the position of first lady.

The Democratic party is having a hell of a time deciding who will be the next candidate. So far neither Obama or Clinton have secured enough electors to officially receive it. There are Democrats who are calling for Clinton to drop here self from the race, and then again Nancy Pelosi wants the race to continue. Hey what do you know the Democrats are split on a decision. For my money I think Barack has the best chance, he is the one that alot of people see as a real change. However his previous comment about guns is still haunting him.

I realize I am behind the news with this one but I recently heard Baracks latest comment about America.

People in the country hold on to their guns, because they are bitter.”

This is the kind of un-educated bable that splits this country into separate parts. If he wanted to speak of country people and their guns it should have gone somthing like this.

People in the country hold on to their guns, because there are bears in the county.”

Granted people in the country are shot, however the purpose of guns in the country is not for killing people. Self-defense yes, hunting and subsistence yes, but not for the purpose of killing people. And if Barack Obama spent some legitimate time in the country he might come to understand this, and who knows he might even gain a few votes.

The race for the “White House” is still complicated, at least on the Democrat side. There is still no clear front runner for the nomination. As of the time of this post Barack Obama has 1,520 pledged delegates, and Hillary Clinton has 1,424 pledged delegates. With a total of 2,025 needed to secure the democratic nomination. It was said that this round of caucuses and primaries would probably be the end of the Clinton campaign, but it appears that she is still in the running. This sequence of events is rather odd if you look at the history of the nomination race, by this time there is usually a front runner, but this race is proving to be the exception to the rule. Things on the Democrat side are still hot.

Now as for the republican side it is well, stagnate.   Sen. John McCain R. Arizona has all but won the nomination of his party for the presidential run. However with all the press and activity that is going on in the Democratic camp these days I am sorry to say that he probably doesn’t have a chance of actually becoming the next president of the United States.

As expected John McCain (REP) and Barack Obama (DEM) gained ground on the primary circuit yesterday. However the lesser know candidates of both parties are not giving up. Hillary Clinton is still running hard with her “first day” tag line, and Mike Huckabee has said he “will remain in the race until either he or McCain secures the necessary delegates to win the GOP nomination.” It seems my previous posts on the tightening democratic race were pure speculation on the part of the “experts”. However to their credit it did appear the the race was going to be very close, but now Barack seems to have the approval of Democratic Voters in America, and if you look at the exit polls he seems to have independent voters as well.

Yes it is the Wednesday after super Tuesday, and the winning candidates here in Alaska were Mitt Romney (REP) and Barack Obama (DEM). Overall John McCain did gain ground with the turnouts nation wide. But on the democrat side there still is no clear front runner. So the race still stays tight between Obama and Clinton.

So it is finally here SUPER TUESDAY…..UUEEESSDDAAYY. Today May be the deciding factor on who will vote for president in the general election in November. However many people believe that after today we still will not have a clear idea who will get the nomination from their respective parties. So we could be just as confused tomorrow as we are today.
